Position Title: Gardener/Groundskeeper
Position Type: Contractor
Location: Carthage, IN
Employment Type: Seasonal Part Time
Reports To: VP Operations

Position Summary:

The Gardener/Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the aesthetic and functional aspects of the outdoor spaces, including gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas. This position requires knowledge of plants, landscaping techniques, and basic maintenance tasks to ensure a well-kept and visually appealing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain lawns, flower beds, shrubs, and trees by watering, weeding, trimming, pruning, and fertilizing as needed.
  • Mow and edge lawns, ensuring neat and orderly grounds.
  • Plant seasonal flowers, shrubs, and trees according to landscaping plans.
  • Remove debris, leaves, and litter from grounds and pathways.
  • Monitor plant health and report signs of pests or disease.
  • Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers as directed and in compliance with safety standards.
  • Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems.
  • Assist with landscaping projects and installations.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and best practices.
  • Assist the Winemaker with pruning and harvesting crops used in our wines.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • MUST be either a US citizen or a legal resident alien.
  • MUST be fluent and literate in the English language.
  • MUST be able to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
  • MUST be 18 or older.
  • MUST have a valid Indiana drivers license.
  • MUST be a business entity registered with the Indiana Secretary of State (corporation, LLC, partnership).
  • Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance.
  • Knowledge of plant care, pruning techniques, and pest management.
  • Ability to safely operate gardening and landscaping tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Physical stamina to perform outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Basic understanding of irrigation systems and lawn care practices.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.

Work Schedule & Compensation:

  • Part-time hours, typically 12-20 hours per week.
  • Flexible schedule based on seasonal and maintenance needs.
  • Compensation: Defined in a contractors agreement.

Position Title:Assistant Winemaker/Distiller
Position Type: Contractor
Location: Carthage, IN
Employment Type: Part-Time, as required
Reports To: VP Operations

Position Summary:

The  Assistant Winemaker/Distiller, a contractors position, will support the production of high-quality wines and spirits by assisting in various stages of the wine making and distillation process. This role requires attention to detail, a passion for fermentation science, and the ability to follow precise production protocols while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the fermentation process, monitoring temperature, pH levels, and other critical parameters.
  • Support blending, filtering, and aging of wines and spirits according to established protocols.
  • Operate and maintain wine making and distillation equipment, including presses, pumps, and stills.
  • Assist with bottling, labeling, and packaging of products.
  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of production areas, barrels, and tanks.
  • Monitor inventory of raw materials and finished products, reporting shortages as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in quality control testing and record production data accurately.
  • Other related duties as may be required and agreed upon.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • MUST be 21 years of age or older.
  • MUST be a US citizen or legal resident alien.
  • MUST be qualified for a bond.
  • MUST have a valid Indiana drivers license.
  • MUST be fluent and literate in the English language.
  • MUST be able to perform mathematic calculations including: basic arithmetic, algebra and geometry.
  • MUST be a business entity registered with the Indiana Secretary of State (corporation, LLC, partnership).
  • Previous experience in wine making or distilling.
  • Knowledge of fermentation, barrel aging, and spirit distillation processes.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and maintaining equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
